TOTUS TUUS, MARIA !

THE GERM OF SANCTITY AND THE SOUL’S VOCATION IN LIFE

Meditation with Revelation inspired by the Holy Virgin Mary

to Myriam van Nazareth

The Mistress of all souls inspires a meditation, which She illustrates with the following words:

"Every human soul is the bearer of a Divine treasure: the germ of sanctity.

This germ bears the signature of God and is therefore, in a manner of speaking, the soul’s certificate of origin, the sign testifying of her being designed in God’s Heart. This germ is therefore also the bearer of the soul’s dignity as a human being.

The soul is the lifelong custodian of this Divine treasure, which she is expected to preserve, to cherish and to honour as her link with her Creator, who is her Origin and Eternal Destination.

The only worthy custody a soul can exercise with regard to this treasure is by leading a life demonstrating a stainless practice of self-denying Love and by radiating such Love all around her.

It is this Love which enables the germ of sanctity, this Divine diamond, to display its magnificence and radiation, thus enabling the soul who loves sincerely, unselfishly and unconditionally to radiate the Light from God Himself all over her surroundings.

To the extent to which the soul fails to live true self-denying Love and to practice it in all her relations and communications with God and with all of her fellow creatures the germ of sanctity is covered with a layer of dust and its lustre, its radiance and beauty are veiled, so much so that the soul loses her radiance and is increasingly enveloped in darkness.

To the extent to which this is the case the glorification rendered by the soul to her Creator decreases and her connection with His Heart is weakened, so that gradually also the influx of true Life from God’s Heart into the core of the soul is hampered, not on account of any obstacle on God’s part but due to the fact the soul makes herself ever less receptive to everything flowing from God towards her: Her inner dispositions are ever less in accordance with the dispositions of God Himself, so that 'the garden of the soul' loses its fertility for all and any Divine seeds.

The soul loses her true vital force. This is why, quite some time ago, I referred to a soul in whom the practice of true self-denying Love is weakened or defiled as a dying soul: Divine Life gradually oozes out of her.

The germ of sanctity also contains her actual programme in life, her true vocation: the commitment between her and her Creator, by virtue of which she commits herself as a human being to lead her one and only life on earth in a disposition of readiness to serve God, both directly and or the benefit of His Works of Love and through rendering service and assistance to all of her fellow creatures, with which she is connected in a network. This network is only maintained alive by the influx of Divine Love, which every human soul must practice and which must emanate from her in purity towards all and any fellow creatures Divine Providence will guide upon her path through life, irrespective of the fact whether this occurs through ephemeral encounters or through long-lived relationships.

The germ of sanctity is the bearer of all faculties which are meant to enable the human soul to achieve the goal God entrusts to every soul in the hour in which she is created: accomplishing sanctity. Sanctity is the state of the soul in whom everything she does, says, thinks, feels, aspires for or desires brings salvation into the world, meaning that it allows God’s Love and Light to flow without any restraints or defilement, and it contributes to the accomplishment of the Plans and Works God sees fit to accomplish in His creation through the intermediary of human souls, i.e. through the actions, omissions, thoughts, feelings, aspirations and desires of every human soul.

This is why sanctity is the state of perfect accordance with God’s Law and God’s Will and therefore the state of unharmed force of Divine Life. Sanctity is therefore an indication of the state in which the soul is living in perfect harmony with the state of being God intended man to live in, in other words the degree to which the soul is actually fulfilling the only true vocation she is meant to fulfil on earth.

The germ of sanctity is the greatest Divine treasure every human soul bears within herself, because it is the bearer of everything the flower of the soul needs to bloom during her only life on earth, to generate the perfume of holiness and to spread it all around her in the form of self-denying Love and of rendering service, and, by her embodying the Law of Divine Love, to gain the merits of harvesting eternal bliss in Heaven.

Therefore the soul who fails to preserve her germ of sanctity in the unharmed state in which God made it and entrusted it to her is actually delivering to the darkness her mission in life, which should consist in rendering service to God’s Works of Love. The darkness is thus given the opportunity to put all of the soul’s works and inner dispositions at the service of its works and plans of evil, whose goal and purpose is none other than slowing down, counteracting, defiling, harming and, if at all possible, destroying all Works of God and thereby all Love and all and any expressions of true self-denying Love in the world.

This is why the germ of sanctity can be regarded as the weapon entrusted by God to every soul to be used in the battle God is waging against the darkness through the human souls for the purpose of establishing God’s Kingdom of perfect Love, Peace, happiness and justice on earth. Every soul bears towards God a personal responsibility for the eventual accomplishment of this Divine goal, through the way in which she manages to fully unfold her germ of sanctity, or fails to do so. This germ can only reach full bloom through a stainless practice of God’s Law of true self-denying Love for God and for all fellow creatures.

This is where every human soul’s true mission in life lies: preserving her germ of sanctity undamaged, in order that in the hour in which God is going to judge her past life she may be able to give it back to God in a state which proves the degree to which she has cherished and honoured God and all of His Works, including all of her fellow creatures, as signs of true Love, for true Love is the essence and fuel of all Life. The extent to which the germ of sanctity does testify to the fact the soul has been cherishing it, caring for it and preserving it with genuine Love, will determine the nature of the judgment God will pronounce on the soul on the basis of His infallible Wisdom, Omniscience, Justice and Mercy, and therefore it will also determine the state of being the soul will experience beyond her life on earth: Eternal Bliss, or eternal damnation. Eternal Bliss can either be acquired directly or indirectly after a period of purification of the soul in a process of expiation for the purpose of perfecting her true Love. Eternal damnation is the state of being of the soul who has neglected and damaged her germ of sanctity to such an extent as to prevent it from ever achieving harmony with the state of being of God Himself, who is the Source of absolutely perfect true Love".

Myriam, October 2020

P.S.: One day Myriam asked Jesus what makes a human soul at all worthy of His company on her journey through life, and during holy Communion. Jesus replied:

"It is the germ of sanctity which makes the soul worthy of My company, to the extent to which the soul keeps this germ pure. God designed the germ of sanctity also for the purpose of being a tabernacle".
